About the Role
Abnormal Security is looking for an experienced and driven senior backend software engineer to join the Email Productivity (EPR) team. The EPR team is responsible for engineering and managing all facets of the Email Productivity product, a key product which drives a significant portion of Abnormal's revenue. As a senior engineer of the team, you will be involved in every critical aspect of the Email Productivity product, from managing its underlying infrastructure to creating intuitive customer-centric components. If you enjoy working with high-volume systems and want to make a notable impact, this opportunity is tailored for you. The ideal candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge about backend engineering and distributed computing, and have past experience delivering on / launching features or products.
What you will do
- Work with the Tech Lead, Engineering Manager and Product Manager to develop and deliver key features for the product
- Assist in guiding and mentoring junior members of the team
- Assume ownership of the reliability of the features you develop, including comprehensive unit tests and rigorous integration testing
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support to effectively troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Communicate effectively with the team in an asynchronous manner. Display a strong sense of initiative and ownership in providing updates, discussing challenges and proposing solutions without prompting
- Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities
Must Haves
- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
- 6+ years of industry experience on backend development & distributed systems, designing & building software applications
- Experience working individually as well as in groups on a regular basis
- Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
