The Autonomous Vehicles Platform team is looking for a Senior System Software Engineer. As part of our team, you will work on our Autonomous Driving Platform software, implementing high-performance and scalable solutions for data collection and autonomous vehicle fleets. Our team is responsible for developing platform and middleware features for self-driving cars. This includes software that interacts with various sensors, including cameras, LiDAR, radar, GPS, IMU, and CAN. We are seeking candidates with interests in inventing, developing, and maintaining application frameworks and tools for multi-computer and heterogeneous architectures. The role involves collaborating with teams across the stack: hardware, embedded software, and cloud infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive AI-based automotive systems from design through production, within power and performance constraints.

  • Work with hardware teams to help shape future platforms for industry-leading power efficiency.

  • Triage and debug stability, performance, and power issues in sophisticated systems and applications.

  • Design systems to comply with ISO 26262 functional safety and security requirements.

  • Excellent programming skills in C++ and C.

  • Solid understanding of QNX, Linux, or real-time operating systems.

  • Experience in developing user-space system software, with a willingness to delve into kernel-space and/or low-level hardware when needed.

  • Knowledge of embedded systems programming, threading, synchronization mechanisms, communication frameworks, and parallel computing to build highly scalable and efficient applications.

  • Familiarity with CPU/GPU architectures, memory subsystems, and performance optimization.

  • Prior experience working in any of the following areas: autonomous vehicles, robotics, GPU, and embedded systems.

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Deep understanding of system architecture: CPU, GPU, memory, Ethernet, and storage.

  • Experience developing autonomous vehicles or robotic systems.

  • Hands-on experience in embedded development, operating systems, and real-time software.
