We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in AWS architecture, C#, and modern engineering practices. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize critical systems that power high-volume financial applications. You will balance speed and quality, ensuring our platforms remain scalable, observable, and resilient as we continue to grow.
This is a hands-on development role-you will not simply maintain existing systems; you will design, develop, observe, and optimize the systems that support one of our most important products. Your work directly influences how quickly and reliably we deliver tax-optimized strategies, personalized indexing, and scalable portfolio management capabilities to clients.
For External Candidates:
Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Berwyn, PA.
For Internal Candidates:
All internal employees, regardless of their current work arrangement (remote or in-office), are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement cloud-native services in AWS using C#, serverless patterns, containerized workloads, and event-driven architectures.
Ensure systems are highly scalable, secure, observable, and automated, leveraging tools such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent observability platforms.
Build high-quality, performant APIs and backend services with a heavy emphasis on clean architecture, testability, and operational excellence.
Work with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, or similar) and contribute to schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Leverage or learn NoSQL technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, DocumentDB) to support scalable, distributed patterns where appropriate.
Partner closely with product, operations, analytics, and application development teams to deliver reliable features in a fast-moving FinTech environment.
Collaborate effectively with offshore engineers, using asynchronous communication and overlapping work hours for real-time pairing and joint troubleshooting.
Provide production support for business-critical systems, primarily during standard business hours, with occasional after-hours needs when incidents require it.
Drive and uphold engineering best practices including CI/CD, code reviews, infrastructure-as-code, performance profiling, and continuous improvement.
Use AI tools daily to accelerate development, enhance quality, and drive innovation as part of our AI-first engineering culture.
What You Bring
5–8+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in C# and the broader .NET ecosystem.
Strong understanding of AWS services and architectures, including Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC networking, and related patterns.
Experience working with relational databases (SQL) and familiarity with NoSQL data modeling.
Comfort designing and supporting high-scale, distributed systems, including performance tuning, caching strategies, failover design, and capacity planning.
Proficiency with observability tools and best practices: tracing, metrics, logging, dashboards, alerting, SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, etc.
Ability to balance speed and craftsmanship, writing code that is both efficient and maintainable in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work productively with offshore teams, cross-functional partners, and non-technical stakeholders.
A proactive mindset around production support, debugging, root cause analysis, and preventing incident recurrence.
A passion for innovation and comfort using AI-driven development tools to improve velocity and quality.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
You will work closely with product, operations, application development, and analytics teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance systems in a high-volume FinTech environment. If you thrive in a dynamic setting where scaling, innovation, observability, and collaboration are the norm, not the exception, you’ll fit right in.
Education Needed to Perform the Job
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Information System Analysis required.
