You will be a key contributor on this platform, using AI coding tools to design and build core services that power developer experience, ensuring quality, scalability, and security. This is a senior, onsite, full-time role based in the United States.
You will play an important role in delivering operational excellence and transformative innovation for Guidewire's Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization. Our priorities include accelerating AI, cloud, and data platform adoption, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers. At Guidewire, you'll contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity, helping transform the way the world's P&C insurers do business.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services but with flexibility to occasionally work with infrastructure and frontend.

  • Apply agentic coding tools as Guidewire uses them to dramatically accelerate development.

  • Engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security in every aspect of the platform.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations, supporting Guidewire's mission of operational excellence and transformative innovation.

  • Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in backend software engineering, with a solid track record in system design and building platform services.
  • Experience with coding agents and automation tools.

  • Strong proficiency in one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with ability to adjust to other languages.

  • Experience with  Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases (vector DBs), AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $222,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
