We’re looking for software engineers to help shape the future of our AI platform. Our team builds the core services that power EvenUp’s products, enabling us to process thousands of personal injury cases and millions of medical documents every month. The systems you build will transform unstructured information into reliable insights that directly impact the outcomes of real people’s lives. You’ll work at the intersection of large-scale backend engineering and cutting-edge AI, helping us scale our platform to meet hypergrowth demand while expanding the boundaries of what’s possible with LLMs.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week spent collaborating with the team in the office. We are open to applicants located in either the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles or the Greater Toronto Area.

What You Will Do

• Document & Data Extraction: Build and optimize pipelines that extract clean, accurate information using both traditional methods and LLMs.

• Performance & Scalability: Identify bottlenecks, improve throughput, and ensure high availability to support rapid customer growth and demand surges.

• Platform Engineering for LLMs: Design and maintain a platform that enables data scientists to embed, deploy, and run LLMs in production.

• Model Ops Support: Build tools for data scientists to benchmark, evaluate, and back-test LLM models efficiently.

• Tech Evolution: Continuously evolve our backend and platform infrastructure to make it more reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building and scaling backend or distributed systems.

• Practical expertise in performance optimization, scalability, and high-availability systems.

• Strong foundation in system stability, reliability, and observability.

• Proven track record of shipping production-ready software and owning projects end-to-end.

• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and translating requirements into scalable solutions.

Nice to Have

• Fluency in Python, Temporal, and GraphQL.

• Experience deploying or operating ML/LLM models in production, including observability and evaluation workflows.

• Familiarity with modern AI/ML tooling (e.g., vector databases, model frameworks, etc).
