Summary
Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (SWE) to support software engineering activities at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). The Senior Software Engineer will provide functional and empirical analysis in support of the design, development, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of software systems.
This position requires strong software engineering experience and the ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems in support of mission and customer requirements.
The position is full-time and onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).
Responsibilities
- Providing functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems.
- Supporting a variety of software solutions, including application software, utility software, development software/tools, and diagnostic software.
- Participating in the development of software and system test strategies.
- Supporting the development and implementation of test devices and systems.
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex software and engineering problems.
- Solving engineering problems or managing the resolution of engineering problems within the assigned functional area.
- Supporting software engineering activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience providing functional and empirical analysis related to software system design, development, and implementation.
- Experience with application, utility, development, and/or diagnostic software.
- Experience developing or supporting test strategies, test devices, and system-level testing activities.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex engineering and software problems.
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite technical/customer environment.
Education/Experience include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another Engineering or Technical discipline.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of professional experience within the last fifteen (15) years.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work 9-5 PM EST Monday-Friday as these are the customer’s core support hours.
- Possible prolonged periods of stationary work.

Clearance: TS/SCI clearance required for this role.
