Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer specializing in DevOps to join our team at Autodesk. This role is ideal for engineers who take ownership and pride in building robust, scalable, and automated systems that empower internal product development teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently through Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines.

As a key member of our ESE organization (CIPE-EO), you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, and Product Engineering to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD solutions supporting Autodesk’s diverse product portfolio. You will also partner with project management, quality assurance, and documentation teams, gaining broad exposure across the entire software development lifecycle while driving automation, reliability, and process excellence at scale.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions for cloud and on-premises environments using modern automation tools such as Cloud Bees Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Azure, or AWS

  • Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple Autodesk product teams

  • Collaborate with development, QA, IT, and operations teams to improve build, test, and release automation workflows

  • Define and maintain branching, merging, and release management best practices across multiple repositories and projects

  • Enhance pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through monitoring, metrics, and continuous optimization

  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance standards are embedded in all CI/CD and deployment processes

  • Drive standardization and reusability of CI/CD components across teams by building internal tooling or shared frameworks

  • Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams outlining automated solutions and build architecture

  • Investigate and resolve build or deployment failures in collaboration with product development teams

  • Meet Horizontal’s SLA for the response & resolution times with quality deliverables

  • Gather all required information necessary to best handle technical inquiries/requests from customers

  • Mentor junior DevOps engineers and developers on CI/CD best practices, automation frameworks, and cloud-based workflows

  • Own customer technical issues or requests from start to resolution, communicating and updating customers regularly on statuses and closure

  • Research extensively and document solutions for knowledge base and bring new ideas for innovation and automation excellence into the horizontal team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or equivalent with excellent technical background 

  • 4-8 years of relevant work experience in large-scale software development, technical hands-on experience in developing and managing software build environments that support multiple ongoing development efforts 

  • Strong scripting skills & knows programming languages like Groovy, Python, Bash and PowerShell

  • Extensive experience in building & managing CI/CD Pipelines for large enterprise products 

  • Continuous integration/deployment tools (Cloud Bees Jenkins, Spinnaker) 

  • Source Code Management tools (GitHub, Perforce)

  • Project & Collaboration Management Systems (JIRA, Confluence Wiki)

  • Working with Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare)

  • Automating computing deployment (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, or similar)

  • Binary management through Artifactory or Nexus

  • A variety of computing environments; Windows, Mac OSX and Linux

  • Experienced with Azure cloud & Cloud Migrations

  • Development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual C++/C# and NET, GCC, Xcode

  • Gather all required information necessary to best handle technical inquiries/requests from customers.

  • Own customer technical issues or requests from start to resolution, communicating and updating customers regularly on statuses and closure.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, characterized by a methodical and meticulous approach

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and work with minimum supervision, self-driven 

  • Hands-on experience with observability and logging tools/services (like Dynatrace, Power BI, Splunk)

  • Proven track record of maintaining focus and completing tasks punctually

  • Familiar with software engineering practices, AGILE, DevOps methodologies 

  • Expert in programming languages like Groovy, Python, Bash and PowerShell​
