About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to help develop features in Underwriting and servicing for Lending with data that powers the next generation of scalable Lending products. You will collaborate with the trust platform and data engineering teams at Remitly including modeling for Lending products as we scale.

You'll collaborate with teams in the Lending domain and partner with infrastructure teams to enhance existing systems, develop new features, and help scale Lending. We support hybrid work, and you can work 50% of your time each month in our Vancouver office. You will be reporting to the Sr engineering manager running the Underwriting and Fraud team.

You Will:

  • Build backend services in Java / GO on AWS
  • Work with data analysts, DS and scientists to ensure we have the right data-marts, pipelines and with ML engineers to offer models that will help us scale our business
  • Inspire creativity by optimizing our service, data story, improving reliability
  • Partner with product managers and engineers across teams to help achieve product and team goals

You Have:

  • 5 or more years of experience designing and building backend systems - preferably using Go or Java. Experience with Scala and Python is a bonus.
  • Experience with relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience working with data pipelines and tools such as Spark and Redshift.
  • Experience with building batch model inference and online model serving systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing orchestration systems for training and automating training workflows
  • Have worked well with data scientists, product managers, and business analysts to connect the dots between business and technology partners
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, GitHub

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $148,000 - $185,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
