Who You Are

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of broadly used software capabilities by designing, executing, and improving effective testing practices. You work closely with developers and cross-functional partners to validate requirements, identify issues early, and support high-quality releases in an Agile environment. Your work helps strengthen product performance and user experience for internal teams, clients, and the people they serve.

What You'll Do

  • Execute test scripts for complex, widely used product capabilities and components across integration, functional, API, data, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.

  • Create, maintain, and extend comprehensive test plans and test cases for user stories, defects, and technical enhancements to ensure requirements and specifications are fully validated.

  • Design structured, reusable, automation-ready test cases that can be used by Quality Engineers and automated test frameworks.

  • Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate test case creation, expand test coverage, identify edge cases, and improve test effectiveness while applying human judgment to validate and refine outputs.

  • Analyze functional requirements and specifications to identify gaps, clarify expected behavior, and define test strategies that verify complete coverage.

  • Partner with developers to troubleshoot defects, isolate complex issues involving dependent software components, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.

  • Set up, perform, and interpret performance and load tests to evaluate product behavior under expected and stressed conditions.

  • Analyze, document, and report test results, quality metrics, and testing status from an overall product perspective.

  • Develop and maintain test scripts, test cases, and software test and performance measurement tools using appropriate programming languages and software applications.

  • Continuously improve test plans, scripts, and cases based on quality data, production incidents, lessons learned, and team priorities.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of demonstrated QA and testing experience or equivalent experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience developing test cases and test scripts.

  • Good knowledge of basic test techniques, including positive and negative testing, interface testing, and database testing.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience across all phases of software testing, including integration, functional, API, data, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.

  • Experience with test tools and source control tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.

  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle, quality before design, Agile software development, and current QA best practices, methodologies, standards, and testing approaches.

  • Experience validating the effectiveness of application user experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of staff levels and lead work effectively within a team environment.

  • Growth Potential & Learning Agility: You actively build your knowledge of product behavior, testing methods, tools, and emerging technologies, and apply new learning to improve test quality and team outcomes.

  • Leadership: You influence through collaboration, communicate clearly with developers and peers, support shared quality goals, and help move issues to resolution when perspectives differ.

  • Adaptability: You adjust quickly to changing priorities, evolving requirements, and shifting release needs while staying focused on quality and delivery outcomes.

  • Creative Thinking: You develop practical, effective ways to improve test coverage, uncover edge cases, and strengthen quality processes across complex product areas.

  • Analytical Skills: You interpret test results, identify patterns and root causes, break down complex issues, and use evidence to guide decisions and recommendations.

  • Nice to have: Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright and an understanding of databases.
