Position Summary

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will formulate and define system scope and objectives. As part of the the development team, you will devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design, codes, test, debug and document those procedures. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. You will regularly provide guidance and training to less-experienced programmer/analysts.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Independently designs and/or codes in the development of cost-effective application and program solutions. 

  • Leads or acts as a technical contributor in the design of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchased solutions.

  • Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems. 

  • Ability to support and lead others to develop API services utilizing onshore and offshore teams.  

  • Serves as team leader to direct technical activities, while also providing support for small and large highly complex projects that require increased skill across multiple technical environments and disciplines, that have system wide impact and that integrate across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong experience in Java technologies (Spring Framework).

  • 5+ years of strong experience in design and development of RESTful APIs, Web Services.

  • 5+ years of experience with IBM WebSphere Message Queue.

  • 3+ years of experience with Databases (preferably IBM DB2).

  • Strong experience integrating with databases using ESQL, Database Nodes, and calling Stored Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing interfaces using tools like RFHUTIL, Postman, SOAPUI, and other testing tools.

  • Experience working with multiple data formats (JSON, XML, EDI/X12, Fixed Length).

  • Experience in full CI/CD process (GitHub, Jenkins, and Octopus).

  • Experience in SAFE/Agile Methodology/Framework.

  • Experience in cloud technologies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$83,430.00 - $166,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
