Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical design, modernization, and execution of our core Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Billing platforms. In this role, you will serve as a technical anchor transitioning legacy architectures into modern, distributed cloud microservices, real-time messaging pipelines, and high-throughput data/API integrations. Your work will span our complete billing ecosystem, encompassing both claims processing (EDI 837 submissions, 835 payment posting, etc.) and invoicing systems (patient/provider statements, fee schedules, and billing reconciliation engines).
Operating with minimal supervision, you will build and architect solutions leveraging Azure SQL Managed Instance, Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, Azure Service Bus (ASB), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Terraform, Kargo/Argo, and New Relic. You will author engineering best practices, champion clean code and system documentation, drive test automation, and actively mentor Associate Software Engineers on the team while partnering with product leaders and solution architects to deliver resilient, secure, and HIPAA-compliant healthcare software.

Core Languages: Strong engineering proficiency in at least one primary backend language (e.g., C#/.NET, Python, Java, or TypeScript/Go).
Multi-Database Expertise: Hands-on engineering proficiency across enterprise database systems, specifically Azure SQL Managed Instance, Postgres, and Snowflake for database design, query tuning, and transactional/analytical data storage.
Messaging & Integration: Direct experience with event-streaming and messaging architectures using Kafka and Azure Service Bus (ASB), alongside cloud data integration via Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Infrastructure & GitOps: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform and GitOps deployment tools such as Kargo and Argo (Argo CD / Argo Workflows).
Observability: Experience with enterprise APM and observability platforms like New Relic.
Documentation & Technical Writing: Strong technical writing abilities with a proven track record of creating thorough system documentation, technical designs, API specifications, and operational runbooks.
Mentorship: Demonstrated track record of mentoring Associate-level software engineers and conducting effective code reviews.

AI Coding Tools: Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) and an active willingness to leverage AI assistance to accelerate development workflows, code quality, and engineering efficiency.
Healthcare & Billing Domain: Deep experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), specifically claims management (EDI 837/835 transaction files, clearinghouse feeds) and invoicing platforms (patient/provider billing, fee schedule engines, financial reconciliation).
Cloud Modernization: Prior experience refactoring or modernizing legacy monolithic billing systems into distributed, event-driven cloud microservices.
Healthcare Security: Practical knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations, HITRUST frameworks, data masking, and secure Protected Health Information (PHI) handling.
