Senior Software Engineer (Java / AWS / Identity, Federation & SSO)
Job Overview
We are seeking an L4 Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable enterprise applications using Java, relations databases, and cloud services. This role is a senior individual contributor position with end-to-end ownership of critical services, including architecture, development, security, and production readiness.
The ideal candidate brings strong backend and cloud experience, a solid understanding of full-stack integration, and deep expertise in identity, federation, and Single Sign-On (SSO) using OAuth2/OpenID Connect and Azure AD B2C. You will collaborate closely with platform, security, and product teams to deliver secure, high-quality systems at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Software Development
- Own the design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications using Java (Spring Boot, Spring Security).
- Lead technical design efforts, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs for internal and external consumers.
- Design, implement, and optimize relational database data models, queries, and transactions.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway.
- Partner with DevOps and platform teams to support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automated deployments.
- Design systems with a focus on performance, scalability, availability, observability, and cost efficiency.
Identity, Security, Federation & SSO
- Design and implement OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authentication and authorization flows.
- Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and federated identity solutions.
- Integrate enterprise and external identity providers, managing token flows, claims, scopes, and role-based access.
- Apply secure coding practices, data protection standards, and cloud security best practices across all layers.
Quality, Reliability & Operations
- Drive testing strategies including unit, integration, and security testing.
- Ensure production readiness through proper monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Participate in production support, incident triage, and root-cause analysis to maintain system reliability.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Communicate technical designs, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Proven experience designing and securing RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and secure API design.
Preferable Qualifications
- Direct experience implementing Federation and SSO using an identity provider such as Azure AD B2C.
- Experience integrating multiple identity providers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
