Why this role matters
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with strong cloud development expertise. In this role, you will apply both your energy-domain knowledge and AWS cloud development competencies to develop and maintain our solution. Hansen Technologies is implementing a cloud-native, microservice-based Meter Data Management solution for the energy industry. Our solution plays a vital role in ensuring that energy meter data is precise and up to date so that accurate readings are reported to our customers. We are a critical link in making sure that grid operators and energy companies have the necessary information to manage energy infrastructure. It’s an exciting time to join our team as we push the envelope in Meter Data Management solutions for the energy industry!
What you’ll be doing
• Participate in service and software development activities, from design to development including reviews when needed.
• Be open-minded about new methods, tools, and ways of working.
• Set up environments programmatically (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Share cloud knowledge and support less-experienced colleagues.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a senior engineer who combines strong cloud fundamentals with curiosity, ownership and collaboration.
Essential experience
- A team player; experience working in an Agile team with a DevOps mindset.
- Proactive problem solver.
- Soft skills: Experience in tutoring and knowledge-sharing.
- Minimum 3 years of cloud-native development experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using AI as part of software lifecycle.
- Proven track record of implementing microservices from scratch.
- Proficient in Python, C#, or TypeScript.
- Minimum 3 years of AWS or other cloud platform experience.
- Experience with real-time data processing and ETL.
- Experience with cloud operations, monitoring, and logging.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and pipeline development.
- Comfortable working with both Windows-based tools and Linux CLI.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with data management in the energy sector.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate (or similar certifications)
- Experience with Serverless architectures, EaC and IaC approaches.
- Experience with Docker or other container services.
- Experience with Machine Learning.
