Position Overview

Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) makes software for people who make things. We are a global leader in design and make software for architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and media and entertainment industries. If you’ve ever driven a high-performance car, admired a towering skyscraper, used a smartphone, or watched a great film, chances are you’ve experienced what millions of Autodesk customers have built with our software. At Autodesk, we exist to turn ideas into new realities that shape a thriving future. Our software and services harness emerging technologies—such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), artificial intelligence, generative design, and robotics—that give companies and individuals the power to work more quickly, effectively, and sustainably throughout the entire project lifecycle.

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Fusion Data team in
Toronto, Canada and help build full stack solutions that power core data
capabilities for Autodesk Fusion. This team focuses primarily on backend systems
and data models, with some frontend development as part of delivering end-to-
end features.
The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on developer who can independently
deliver complex work, solve challenging problems, and collaborate effectively
across the team. You’re curious, adaptable, and comfortable working across the
stack, with a focus on building high-quality, scalable systems. Our team embraces
an AI-first approach to development and uses modern tools to accelerate
productivity.
Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a collaborative, distributed team to deliver features for Fusion’s data platform

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and data models, while contributing to frontend features as needed

  • Take ownership of complex problems from design through implementation and delivery

  • Translate product requirements into clear technical solutions

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving team practices

  • Mentor and support more junior developers on the team

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and remote teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience

  • Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (and ability to learn others quickly)

  • Proven ability to independently deliver complex technical work

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

  • Experience building and maintaining backend systems and APIs

  • Commitment to writing well-tested, high-quality code

  • Comfortable working in a distributed team environment

  • Experience with modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, is a plus
