The Opportunity:
Join KBR as a Senior Software Developer and help deliver innovative software solutions that support critical Defence capability. Working in a collaborative Agile environment, you'll design, develop and enhance high-quality applications while partnering with developers, project managers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure and scalable solutions. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects, contribute to continuous improvement, and further develop your technical expertise in a dynamic and supportive team.
This is an expression of interest for permanent full-time opportunities in Canberra and Brisbane.
The successful candidate must hold a NV1 security clearance or higher.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality software in accordance with established standards and best practices.
- Participate in all Agile sprint activities, including planning, estimation, development and reviews.
- Contribute to software design, task decomposition and effort estimation.
- Develop and execute unit and system testing to ensure software quality and performance.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers and stakeholders to deliver effective software solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tools and practices.
- Represent KBR professionally while adhering to company policies, security requirements and quality standards.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Strong experience in software development or a similar role.
- Strong experience developing applications using C# and WPF.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design.
- Experience with unit testing and delivering high-quality, maintainable code.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable:
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO/TFS), Git and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft software development and testing ecosystem.
- Experience developing software for Defence or other secure, mission-critical environments.
