Senior Software Developer - Cloud

At 3Shape, we use cloud platforms to deliver secure, reliable services to both internal teams and external customers. Microsoft Azure is our primary cloud provider, and we are scaling our footprint across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to support critical product experiences.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join the 3Shape Cloud Storage team, where we build different services that our dental applications utilize and depend upon.

The Cloud Storage service runs locally alongside the dental applications in the clinics and labs, and in the cloud. It supports automatic synchronization of data to where it is needed. The Cloud Storage also stores data in the cloud for the clinics and labs with adequate subscriptions. To give an idea of scale, 3TB of data is ingested daily, with 120 million events processed daily and 1.9 petabytes of data stored globally.

The role combines backend development with SRE and DevOps practices to support the development and operation of one of 3Shape’s core platform capabilities, used by customer-facing products. You bring extensive experience in C# and will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services within the Cloud Storage domain. The role involves end-to-end delivery of features—from development and testing to deployment readiness and stakeholder alignment.

You are naturally curious about modern engineering practices and willing to keep up with relevant technologies and trends. You also have experience with SQL, infrastructure as code, and both high-level and detailed monitoring, including building and maintaining dashboards and managing multi-region deployment pipelines. Additionally, familiarity with PKI infrastructure, certificate chains, and Merkle trees is considered a strong advantage.

You will collaborate with platform and product teams across 3Shape to align on Azure standards and best practices, especially around Infrastructure as Code, observability, and operational readiness. Here you will get to use your strong background in software engineering and a pragmatic approach to continuous improvement, and collaboration. You will be working in agile teams, where you will be able to gain ownership, from code quality and design to operational outcomes in production.

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional C#/.NET backend development experience, in a cloud environment.

• Professional experience in SQL, optionally experience with Postgres is desirable.

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals (design, performance, security, and maintainability) including API design, automated testing, code reviews, and building maintainable systems.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on DevOps/SRE experience, ideally in a role combining software development and operations.

• Strong understanding of core Azure concepts (networking, compute, storage, and databases) and experience with monitoring/observability (Azure, OpenTelemetry and/or LGTM stack).

• A strong ownership mindset: automation-first, focus on reliability, and continuous improvement of quality and stability.

• Experience with containerized workloads.
