Description

Markon is seeking a Software Developer (Alpha) to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, Virginia. This position will design, develop, troubleshoot, and enhance complex software applications supporting mission-focused targeting capabilities. The Software Developer will work closely with end users, stakeholders, and an Agile development team to build scalable solutions, maintain highly technical data, and improve system performance and distributed processing capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support a development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing targeting applications.
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex software applications.
  • Develop innovative solutions that improve system performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities.
  • Track and maintain highly technical data used to support analytical and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to retain and leverage technical information for ongoing development efforts.
  • Communicate with developers, stakeholders, and end users to clarify requirements and resolve technical obstacles.
  • Develop and maintain full-stack software solutions.
  • Support backend application development and the creation and integration of APIs.
  • Develop and deploy applications within cloud-based and virtualized environments.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document application requirements.
  • Participate in development activities using Agile software development methodologies.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to achieve technical and mission objectives.
  • Maintain current technical training and tradecraft as software technologies and development practices evolve.
  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with other members of the development team.
Qualifications

Required:

  • An Active TS/SCI with an FSP (preferrably from this client) is required to be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree related to the technical discipline and at least 6 years of relevant experience; OR
    • Associate’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience; OR
    • No degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of full-stack software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing applications using Node.js.
  • At least 2 years of backend development and API development experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience deploying applications within cloud-based or virtualized environments, such as AWS, Azure, VMware, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • At least 2 years of experience engaging with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing applications within an Agile environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with developers, stakeholders, and end users.

Desired:

  • Strong understanding of internet protocols and networking technologies used by Internet Service Providers to provision networks, including MPLS and Ethernet VLANs.
  • Understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue, Angular, or React.
  • Prior experience effectively serving as a Scrum Master.
Salary RangeUSD $180,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
