TEC is technology-led and customer-focused, delivering award-winning experiences and value through proprietary platforms. TEC’s digital brands, including Electric Kiwi, are disrupting utility retail markets by integrating technology, culture, sustainability, and community impact.
energytec.ai is the technology arm of TEC, reshaping retail customer experiences through cutting-edge AI engineering. We are transforming the energy, mobile, and broadband retail sectors with safe, scalable AI solutions, empowering retail businesses to unlock the full potential of their data and drive lasting impact.
We’re The Energy Collective, the team behind Electric Kiwi, Butter House, and Kiwi Mobile. We exist to make it better for our customers, our people, and our planet. We solve real problems with clever tech, common sense, and good vibes. We back each other to be brave, try new things, and speak up when it matters.
What you’ll do
● Lead, mentor, and manage full‑stack engineering teams (internal and external), empowering and training team members to foster a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
● Own Agile delivery: run ceremonies, refine backlogs, coordinate across Scrum teams, sustain/improve processes, and maintain shared/global codebases.
● Design, build, and ship end‑to‑end features: responsive UIs (Angular, HTML, CSS, jQuery), APIs/services (PHP/Python), and databases; ensure performance, security, and scalability using microservices/cloud‑native patterns.
● Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines; automate build, test, security scans, and release promotion across dev/staging/UAT/prod; support blue/green and canary strategies.
● Embed secure SDLC practices: secure coding, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and pipeline-integrated controls.
● Plan and manage projects to scope, schedule, and budget; track progress and risks; meet production SLOs and provide operational support for the TEC stack.
● Establish QA standards: code reviews, unit/integration/E2E testing (Jest, Karma, Jasmine), and quality gates.
● Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive timely resolutions and preventive improvements.
● Leverage cloud services (AWS or other), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and Linux (Ubuntu) for development and deployment.
● Partner with product and clients to translate business requirements into technical designs; manage client expectations on sprint deliverables.
● Drive continuous improvement, documentation, and knowledge sharing; evaluate and adopt tools/technologies to maximize efficiency.
How we’ll know you’re smashing it
● Consistent on‑time, in‑scope sprint and project delivery within budget.
● Production SLOs (availability, latency, error budgets) met or exceeded.
● CI/CD health: increased deployment frequency, shorter lead time for changes, low change failure rate, and fast MTTR; automated release promotion with minimal manual steps.
● Quality outcomes: target automated test coverage achieved; low defect escape rate; reduced rework; successful peer reviews.
● Strong security posture: zero critical/high vulnerabilities in production; remediation SLAs met; positive security audit results.
● Stakeholder satisfaction: positive feedback from clients and cross‑functional partners; clear, timely communication and status transparency.
● Team health and innovation: improved collaboration, knowledge sharing, and creativity; measurable skill growth and low attrition.
● Operational excellence: stable, observable systems with actionable monitoring/alerts; reduced incident volume and toil; efficient cloud/resource usage.
What you’ll bring
● 10+ years delivering and leading full‑stack software in Agile environments, including managing internal teams and contractors.
● Strong programming across the stack: PHP and Python for backend/API development; Angular, HTML, CSS (responsive), JavaScript/jQuery for frontend; solid database knowledge.
● Hands‑on CI/CD expertise and automation of release promotion across dev/staging/UAT/prod.
● Cloud experience (AWS or other providers) and knowledge of microservices/cloud‑native architectures.
● Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes); working knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu).
● Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and unit test tools (Jest, Karma, Jasmine, or similar).
● Proven track record meeting SLOs and supporting production systems.
● Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate business needs into technical designs and collaborate across Scrum teams; strong client management.
● High proficiency with modern development practices, tools, and workflows; passion for continuous improvement; strong cultural fit.
● Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech (CSE) / M.E/M.Tech (CSE) / MCA in Computer Science or Information Technology.
