Senior Software Architect - Integration (Bedford, MA)
We are seeking a Software Architect to provide architectural ownership and functional leadership within Clinical Imaging Software. As part of the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) team, you will establish and shape the integration of software solutions across multiple existing imaging platforms while enabling teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and innovative medical software products.
Your role:
Architectural Leadership:
Own and evolve the end-to-end software architecture for assigned products or platforms, balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical vision.
Define architectural principles, guardrails, and technology roadmaps, including non-functional requirements such as performance, security, safety, and scalability.
Review and challenge architectural proposals to ensure alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
Functional & Technical Leadership:
Provide functional leadership for a focused team of software engineers, test engineers, requirements engineers and other members of the software team through coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, built-in quality, and continuous improvement.
Contribute to talent identification, development, and succession planning for technical roles.
Software Delivery & Quality:
Enable teams to deliver high-quality software through clear architectural guidance and alignment with Agile / SAFe practices.
Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and strong design control practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with existing software leadership and resources, product management, quality, regulatory, clinical, and service stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business needs.

You have 8+ years of experience in software architecture and software engineering for complex, software-intensive systems. Experience working on medical devices with an emphasis on software is desired.
You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
You show a proven ability to lead and influence senior technical professionals in a regulated environment.
You bring strong communication skills and the ability to bridge business strategy and technical execution.

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an office-based role with the expectation of 5 days a week in the Bedford, MA office.

Philips Transparency Details:
The pay range for this position in MA is $157,000 - $249,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
