Get to Know the Team

Join Grab's Sentry team, the backbone that ensures smooth operations for millions of Grab's consumers daily. Our systems handle billions of network messages and integrate hundreds of services with zero downtime. We work with infrastructure, security, and product teams to provide world-class solutions. We're looking for a hybrid working engineers to strengthen our platform team.

Get to Know the Role

You will focus on developing solutions that are reliable and efficient. Your work will be built on technology stacks, and you'll help deliver Grab's unique on-demand services across South-East Asia. Your contributions will directly influence the stability and efficiency of multiple Grab services, demanding high-quality design and execution. You will report to the Engineering Manager

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Build and manage Grab's gateway systems, linking millions of consumer devices to hundreds of backend services through Grab's service mesh.
• You will collaborate directly with software engineering and product teams to create secure solutions.
• You will design and implement scalable, zero-downtime, multi-cloud network traffic routing and analytics solutions for Grab's public edge.
• You will independently lead projects from launch to rollout, working across different teams.
• You will resolve issues within Grab's infrastructure and codebase.
• You will develop control and data-plane components, addressing production incidents as they arise.
• You will write and review code in Go and Lua, mentoring peers and upholding for code reviews and deployment processes.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• At least 5 years of experience in Devops/Site Reliability Engineer role
• Network Knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/[1, 2, 3], DNS.
• Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Provisioning & Automation: Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Container Management: Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• System Troubleshooting: skills in troubleshooting within Linux environments.
• Programming Languages: Fluency in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Proficiency in English
