The Role
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will assess and optimize code and systems for reliability. Collaborating with product engineering, you'll engage in the full service lifecycle, monitor system health, and apply systematic problem-solving to enhance service efficiency and performance. Your role includes supporting live services, practicing incident response, and contributing to the team’s learning culture.
Summary Generated by Built In

What if, in your next adventure, you were surrounded by people who, like you, look for an unlimited playground to explore, share, and test, would you care to hear more? You've opened the right door! As an R&D team, making sure your ideas are heard and encouraged is what we strive to do!What You'll Do:

The concept of Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) draws inspiration from the principles of SRE. At Criteo, PRE acts as the bridge between Product, Platform Engineering and Infrastructure. The PRE group comprises eight global engineering teams with a common objective: to build the most reliable platform in AdTech.

How You'll Make An Impact

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you'll work closely with product engineering to dig into the code of our app, systems, and pipelines to assess where optimization is needed most. You'll tell stories with meaningful monitoring and, hopefully, never be paged during your on-call rotation because we've worked hard to make our platform reliable. Speaking of on-call, with an example team of five, you're looking at only 10 weeks in a year, and your time is compensated! Not bad, right?

You'll learn skills from other team members along the way and have opportunities to teach us! It's perfect for an engineer who likes shipping code and wants to be involved in all aspects of reliability, efficiency & maintainability.

Our missions as a PRE team:

  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services - from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement.

  • Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.

  • Optimise and maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

  • Scale, automate and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and efficiency.

  • Practice incident response and blameless postmortems.

  • Stack: K8s, Mesos, .Net Core, C#, Java/Scala, Python, and more.

Who You Are:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • You have extensive experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and data structures or algorithms.

  • You're at ease with designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems,

  • You have experience working in computing, distributed systems, storage, or networking.

  • You are used to debug, optimize code, and to automate routine tasks.

  • You show a systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills.

We acknowledge that many candidates may not meet every single role requirement listed above. If your experience looks a little different from our requirements but you believe that you can still bring value to the role, we’d love to see your application!
