Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview): 
The SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the organization's technical authority for Microsoft SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving enterprise collaboration solutions while ensuring alignment with organizational governance, security, compliance, and information management standards.The SharePoint SME works closely with business stakeholders, project teams, solution architects, cybersecurity personnel, and Microsoft 365 administrators to deliver scalable collaboration solutions that improve business processes, enhance user productivity, and support enterprise digital transformation initiatives.This position provides technical leadership for SharePoint architecture, information architecture, governance, permissions strategy, automation, document management, and integration with Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI.

What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):

    Serve as the primary technical expert for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
    Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, hubs, communication sites, team sites, lists, libraries, and related collaboration solutions.
    Develop and maintain enterprise SharePoint governance standards, policies, naming conventions, lifecycle management processes, and best practices.
    Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable SharePoint solutions.
    Design and implement information architecture, metadata strategies, content types, navigation, search optimization, and document management solutions.
    Develop and support business process automation using Power Automate and integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services.
    Collaborate with Power Platform developers to ensure solutions follow enterprise governance and security standards.
    Manage SharePoint permissions, security groups, and access controls while ensuring compliance with organizational security requirements.
    Troubleshoot complex SharePoint issues and provide Tier III technical support for production environments.
    Participate in solution design reviews and architecture discussions to ensure new implementations align with enterprise standards.
    Support migrations from legacy file shares or SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online.
    Create technical documentation, governance documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
    Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to administrators, site owners, and business users.
    Evaluate new Microsoft 365 capabilities and recommend enhancements that improve collaboration, productivity, and operational efficiency.
    Monitor platform health, usage, performance, and adoption metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):

    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
    Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience administering and supporting SharePoint Online in an enterprise environment.
    Experience designing enterprise SharePoint solutions, site architecture, information architecture, and document management solutions.
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
    Experience with Power Automate and integrating SharePoint with Microsoft 365 applications.
    Working knowledge of SharePoint permissions, security models, compliance, and records management.
    Experience developing governance standards, policies, and operational procedures.
    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions.

Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

    Seven (7) or more years of enterprise SharePoint experience. 
    Experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. 
    Experience developing enterprise Microsoft 365 governance frameworks.
    Experience with SharePoint migrations using Microsoft or third-party migration tools.
    Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, retention policies, records management, sensitivity labels, and compliance features.
    Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerShell automation, REST APIs, or Microsoft Graph.
    Experience serving as a technical lead or solution architect for enterprise collaboration platforms.
    Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, or Azure.
    Experience supporting highly regulated environments, including government or other security-conscious organizations.
    Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and experience working on cross-functional project teams.
