THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

If so, then this ServiceNow CMDB Specialist role might be perfect for you! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and optimization of our ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of IT asset data, which is critical for supporting various IT functions and driving informed decision-making.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
CMDB Administration:
-
Configure and maintain CMDB classes, attributes, and relationships to reflect the IT infrastructure accurately.

Manage the data lifecycle within the CMDB, including onboarding new CIs (Configuration Items), data cleansing, and deactivating retired assets.

Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
Discovery and Reconciliation:

Implement and maintain discovery tools and processes to automatically collect IT asset and CI data from various sources.

Reconcile discovered data with existing CMDB records to ensure accuracy and eliminate duplicates.

Monitor and troubleshoot discovery jobs to identify and resolve data integration issues.

Keep an overarching view of all the CMDB integrations.
Reporting and Analytics:

Develop reports and dashboards to visualise CMDB data and identify trends.

Analyse CMDB data to identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements.

Collaborate with stakeholders across Zalando to ensure reports meet their needs.
Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with IT operations teams, system administrators, and business users to understand their CMDB requirements.

Provide ongoing support to users regarding CMDB functionalities and data access.

Stay updated on the latest ServiceNow CMDB features and best practices.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with IT asset management tools or CMDB systems.

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and configuration management principles
-
Proven experience with ServiceNow CMDB configuration, integrations and administration.

Experience in ServiceNow CSDM
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
-
Understanding of ITIL principles & practices, especially related to configuration management and CMDB
-
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
-
Experience with reporting tools and data visualisation techniques (a plus).
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written skills in English

ServiceNow certifications ServiceNow Fundamentals/CSA, CIS - ITSM, CIS - Discovery
