The Role: Senior Security Engineer  

The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for the provision of operational cybersecurity throughout a dynamic and expanding global sports tech organization.  

The role requires a dedicated, personable, and self-motivated individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic and initiative. The Senior security engineer will be a highly technical individual with extensive hands-on experience and a strong ability to independently learn and adapt.  

The duties of this role will necessitate close liaison with numerous departments, businesses and senior stakeholders across the Group and as such, will require someone who can not only implement solutions or risk mitigation strategies, but clearly articulate the rationale to stakeholders.   

Key Responsibilities 

• To assist in the delivery of Cyber Security strategic roadmap for Genius Sports, acting as a security SME for delivery on time, and to budget.
• Acting as an SME and escalation point for all aspects of cyber incident management.
• Acting as an SME for all Cloud Security, including the design, implementation and oversight of security controls in cloud environments.
• To provide thought leadership on Cyber Security improvement areas and efficiencies, leading them until completion.
• Experience of security industry standards and best-practice standards, such as SOC2 or ISO27001
• Providing Information Security guidance across IT operations and new projects
• Identify, assess and drive process around emerging security threats and vulnerabilities that could affect the Group and users of its information
• Carry out security risk assessments
• Mentoring / support to junior members of the team 
  

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and related automation tools
• Significant experience in Information Security disciplines including incident management and engineering of security platforms (SIEM, EDR solutions, web proxies, SASE, CASB, DLP)
• Strong knowledge of cyber threats, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments  
• Expertise of cloud security controls in AWS and/or Azure
• Strong communication skills, articulate, organized, diligent and pragmatic
• Experience working with business stakeholders within a modern tech organization that develops cloud applications (i.e. cloud native, agile, microservices oriented, continuously integrated and delivered)
• Recognized security qualifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS or Azure certified Security Professional.

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 -$180,000. There are a number of factors which affect what the specific pay offer would be for this role, including location, seniority, and relevant educational and working experience. This is base salary only – all full-time roles will also be eligible to take part in Genius benefits and some roles may be eligible to take part in a variable compensation plan.
