Our client is a cloud infrastructure software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as the first dedicated security engineer, taking responsibility for security both inside the organization and in what is delivered to customers. The position is a hands-on software engineering role that also involves working closely with customer technical teams and building the security roadmap from scratch.
What you'll do
- Launch a dedicated security engineering practice and set its internal roadmap.
- Encourage sound security habits across a small, flat engineering organization.
- Design and ship security capabilities that customers use directly.
- Write production Go code to strengthen infrastructure and container environments across several large cloud providers.
- Take end-to-end ownership of cloud and container protection, covering access control, network design, credential handling, workload separation and audit logging.
- Partner with customer security engineers to clarify requirements and demonstrate that the platform meets their standards.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Current experience writing production application code as a software engineer, rather than a purely operations-focused background.
- Hands-on background securing cloud and container environments.
- Experience building or contributing to core infrastructure at a cloud or platform company, or in an environment with a very high engineering bar.
- Application security experience, including authentication, authorization, vulnerability research and secure coding practices.
- Track record as an early or security-minded engineer who has delivered security features used by customers.
- Proficiency in Go.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, ideally more than one.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field.

- Base salary: USD 220,000 to 320,000 per year
