About the Role
We’re looking for a Security Engineer to help build our Security Operations, Detection, and Response foundation. You’ll work hands-on across detection engineering, incident response, and our growing Detection-as-Code (DaC) practice — contributing to a function we’re building from the ground up, with support from senior team members as we scale.
What You’ll Do
Detection Engineering: Author, deploy, and tune detection rules mapped to MITRE ATT&CK. Help implement Detection-as-Code practices and reduce false positives.
Telemetry & Tooling: Support deployment and management of our core security stack (SIEM, EDR, NTA) and help establish ingestion pipelines across cloud (AWS/GCP), SaaS, and endpoint layers.
Incident Response: Participate in the IR lifecycle for P1/P2 events, support playbook development, and help drive toward MTTD/MTTR targets. (Incident Commander responsibilities for critical events sit with senior team members initially — you’ll build toward this.)
AI-Driven SecOps: Use LLMs in daily workflows — alert summarization, draft detection logic, SOAR playbook drafting.
SOC 2 Type II Support: Contribute to CC7 (Monitoring & Detection) evidence — log retention, alert records — working alongside compliance/GRC rather than owning the audit relationship solo.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years hands-on security engineering experience, with exposure to SIEM, IR, SOAR, or detection engineering.
Comfortable contributing to infrastructure build-out — tool evaluation, configuration, documentation — in a growing function (you won’t be inheriting a mature program, but you won’t be alone either).
Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and log source integration.
Exposure to IR workflows and SLA-driven environments (MTTD/MTTR) — ownership grows with experience.
Familiarity with SOC 2 concepts is a plus, not required at this level.
Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in daily security workflows

Skills Required
- 3+ years of hands-on security engineering experience with depth in security operations, SIEM, incident response, SOAR, detection engineering, and threat hunting
- Experience building security infrastructure from zero, including tool selection, baseline configuration, and policy definition
- Strong working knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, custom log source integration, and incident severity matrix mapping
- Extensive experience managing incident response lifecycles and tuning workflows to meet MTTD and MTTR SLAs
- Working knowledge of SOC 2 Type II control requirements, specifically CC7 Monitoring and Detection, and operational audit evidence standards
- Routine use of LLMs such as ChatGPT or Claude for alert summarization, rule generation, or automation
