Job Summary
A Senior Seasoning Flavorist works independently and in project teams to develop winning seasonings for key local, strategic, regional and global customers. A Senior Seasoning Flavorist demonstrates leadership in seasoning creation and acts as a mentor for more junior Seasoning Flavorists and supports Principal Seasoning Flavorists. A Senior Seasoning Flavorist contributes to the regional and global technical strategy in seasoning design and provides feedback to global teams on new technology initiatives.
Description/Responsibilities:
Takes leadership role in creative projects and initiatives, both regional and global
Works on projects for key local, strategic, regional and global customers, with high level of commercial success
Strongly understands and manages key steps and key contacts in projects from creation to production
Navigates the balance between creative design and project constraints
Excellent understanding of technical and legal needs for seasonings in end use categories
Anticipates, investigates and resolves problems related to new raw materials, flavor systems, finished prototypes and initial scale up procedures
Proactive in using new raw materials, advancing technology and utilizing IFF technology
Recognized technical expert within the company globally, as well as with customers to champion innovation
Fosters cross Category collaboration and sharing knowledge and usage of new ingredients and technologies
Understands IFF technology strategy, areas for technology development, and core technology strengths
Contributes to R&D and program initiatives
Understands and communicates customer business strategy and market trends
Broad business understanding of other functions: Production, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing and Product Experience (PX)
Maintains stronger technical network with global colleagues
Requirements:
Minimum entry level is a completed University/College Degree
Master’s degree in Science related area preferred
Has spent 10–12 years in seasoning creation (preferably 5 with IFF)
Promoted from Senior Seasoning Flavorist I or entered at an equivalent level from a competitor
