ABOUT THIS ROLE

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Sr SDET to play a pivotal role on our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will leverage your expertise to contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architectural design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient software products that meet the needs of our users and business objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Develop, support, and provide quality assurance in our technology products that power our platforms and services. Utilize automated testing as well as manual inspection to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the services. You will also contribute to the product when time permits.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and guides, ensuring they are up to date, accurate, and easy to understand for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Product Releases and Deployments: Sign off on product releases by reviewing specifications.
  • Data Analysis: Comfortably analyze large datasets for accuracy and logical values, leveraging your analytical skills to ensure data integrity and identify insights that drive decision-making and product improvements.
  • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software products on time.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, troubleshoot production incidents, and implement preventive measures to minimize system downtime and ensure service reliability.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve development processes and methodologies.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies for frontend and backend services
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with SQL including the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance
  • Experience in financial services a plus

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot systems, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure system reliability and availability
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and act as a technical leader when necessary
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Jira)
