What is the opportunity?
RBC is seeking to hire Senior SDET- Quality Engineering. You will be responsible for effective planning, executing and tracking functional, automation tests for WMTS Canada. Your objective is to ensure the QE processes are well defined, executed and continually monitored. Working with different project teams to ensure functional/regression test suite is up to date and remains relevant. You will be accountable for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection and maximizing test coverage.

Provide support on testing estimation acting as a release lead in full capacity

Supports overall quality engineering strategy

Accountable to provide subject matter expertise and leadership on test case architecture and design

Supports leadership in the execution of operational frameworks, processes and tools, and utilization of organizational change management practices to drive support and empower staff in assigned unit

Provides recommendations and contribute to solutions in area of expertise including leading QE work streams

Supports the implementation of QE Program and overall QE process and standards through optimized test case architecture and automation in portfolio

Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
What will you do?

Automate assigned areas/feature using existing Framework and provide the test estimations for Trading applications.

Responsible for designing the effective test cases using Model based approach and test design techniques.

Responsible for overall quality of testing deliverables/activities.

Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test execution and reporting.

Leverages the existing automation frameworks, tools and artefacts to ensure testing process is continuous, comprehensive and fully autonomous.

Closely work with Application Development team as one unified team to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline.

Work with Solution Architects across LOB to identify E2E application architecture changes to drive QE strategies during testing.

Responsible for technical coaching, mentoring, training and day to day interaction with a team of QE practitioners, developers and driving test case architecture for projects/programs.
Must-have
-
Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a QE/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (Web, Windows, Mainframe, databases and services/APIs) using tools like SoapUI, Selenium, Appium, UFT/Lean UFT/RestAssured/Robot Framework, TestNG)

Expert in script development using languages (e.g., Java, C/C++ ,Perl, Python, Bash, etc.) and SQL DB querying

Strong Trading domain knowledge and Hands-on experience in testing the Trade life-cycle, Order flows for assets like Stocks, Options, Mutual funds, Forex and Fixed income (including Bonds, Coupons, GIC's, Money-markets and T-bills etc).

Strong Testing concepts including planning, test estimation, strategy, expert in leading and hands-on test case design to provide efficient optimal coverage.

Expert knowledge of industry practices with focus on Agile, DevOps(test integration in CICD pipeline), source code management using GIT, SVN, E11 etc

Excellent communication skills and effective negotiation skills

Computer Engineering, Computer Science, related (technical) degree/diploma
Nice to Have

ISTQB Certified Agile Tester

ISTQB Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TTA)

ASTQB Certified Mobile Tester

Wealth/Portfolio Management domain knowledge

Experience using test case optimization tools such as ConformIQ, Hexawise, etc.
