About the role

Crunchyroll is growing and changing, presenting unique challenges and opportunities to support millions of anime fans around the world. The Partner Reliability team ensures Crunchyroll fans have an exceptional anime experience on partner devices.

As part of this dynamic team, you'll help shape the quality of the Crunchyroll app on TVs, both before and after it is released to production. You'll leverage the latest automated testing, data analysis, and observability and alerting to help drive the next generation of reliability and quality. We are looking for a creative and motivated person who is excited to take on challenging projects and help drive the future of scaling partner device reliability.

You will:

  • Develop automated tests and tools that are part of our build and test automation infrastructure with an eye on scaling and reliability
  • Innovatively create and develop techniques to automate manual activities in our development and testing process
  • Operate in an environment where you can leverage multiple teams to help our partners be successful
  • Set direction and build consensus to drive long-term positive impact on the engineering ecosystem
  • Evangelize and drive adoption of software development best practices in code health, quality and test stability through frameworks and information sharing, not rules and process

In the role of Senior Software Engineer, Device Reliability, you will report to the Director of Partnerships Reliability Engineering. We are considering applicants for the location of San Francisco, California.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 8+ years of practical experience
  • You have experience building automated tests for web applications using HTML5
  • You have experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS
  • You are passionate about quality and new ideas
  • You have experience developing and automating test cases, test harnesses, and expertise in utilizing the latest technologies will be essential
  • You have practical experience developing automation to run on consumer electronics devices
  • You have internal and external partner empathy

The Scaling Client and Partnership Engineering team at Crunchyroll plays a pivotal role in enhancing and expanding our users' experiences. We collaborate extensively with a diverse network of device, payment, and gaming partners to broaden the reach of Crunchyroll's offerings. Our primary goal is to drive growth, open up new acquisition channels, and optimize both the scope and quality of our services. The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
