We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to drive Agile success across Development Teams in Mumbai.
Overview:
The Senior Scrum Master oversees scrum teams' adherence to Agile and Scrum processes, mentors them through Agile ceremonies, and cultivates a continuous improvement culture. To support teams' success, the position ensures effective communication with management and proactively removes impediments. Additionally, they are in charge of advancing the Agile and Lean frameworks that allow for continuous development and the delivery of high-quality products. The Senior Scrum Master maintains a flexible attitude that enables teams to react swiftly to change and eliminates obstacles that impede development.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all core Scrum events across all scrum teams assigned.
- Coach team members on the effective utilization of Agile and Scrum.
- Create an environment of collaboration within the teams that allows for open dialogue and productive solutions for resolving conflicts.
- Promote continuous improvement of Agile practices and principles, review and understand metrics, and coach team members on the effective use of Scrum and Agile.
- Review and socialize sprint and team metrics to help highlight successes and areas for team improvement
- In partnership with Product Owner(s) collaborate on product roadmaps and the backlog. Helps to make sure everyone on the team understands the project’s goals and scope.
- Ensure everyone on the team understands the project’s & sprints goals and scope.
- Guide the team through Agile project planning and commitment.
- Maintain tight coordination and dependency tracking across teams.
- Track, analyze and report on key Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown to monitor progress and team health.
- Communicate organizational impediments to leadership, clear impediments for the team.
- Embrace the concept of continuous learning in your own journey and instill the same in the team(s) you coach.
- Instill with the team the value of Transparency | Inspection | Adaptation.
- Lead, and influence by example, a positive servant-leader culture within your teams, department and the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or graduate of any IT or Software Development related course.
- 8-12 years’ experience in software development (Dev, QA, PJM) including 5 years’ experience with Agile
- Certified Scrum Master / PSM I / PSM II and/or RTE, SAFe certification required.
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Effective communicator with the ability to tailor communication for different audiences.
- Data-driven and detail-oriented.
- Skilled at removing business and technical impediments.
- Familiarity using JIRA/Atlassian tools on a software development project.
- Possess an executive presence and ability to coach multiple teams across the firm.
Preferred Experience:
- Master at JIRA workflow & administration (big plus).
- Financial services industry experience.
