Position Overview

The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for enabling successful delivery across multiple Agile teams, projects, programmes or strategic transformation initiatives. The role provides advanced Agile leadership, coaching and facilitation whilst helping Convatec improve organisational delivery performance and Agile maturity.

The Senior Scrum Master acts as a trusted advisor to Product Owners, Programme Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Portfolio Leadership and senior business stakeholders. The role drives adoption of Agile practices, mentors Scrum Masters, supports enterprise Agile transformation initiatives and establishes effective delivery approaches that improve business outcomes, team performance and value realisation. This position operates across complex global programmes and plays a key role in developing Convatec's Agile capability framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile delivery across multiple teams and strategic initiatives.

  • Facilitate project/programme-level planning activities.

  • Coordinate delivery dependencies across teams and workstreams.

  • Coach Product Owners, Scrum Masters and delivery leaders.

  • Mentor Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners.

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies for complex and strategic initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple teams.

  • Establish Agile best practices and standards.

  • Support organisational Agile operating model evolution.

  • Conduct Agile maturity assessments and improvement planning.

  • Drive adoption of Lean and Agile principles.

  • Support Agile portfolio delivery approaches.

  • Improve transparency of delivery performance through metrics.

  • Monitor programme-level delivery effectiveness.

  • Facilitate resolution of complex delivery risks and impediments.

  • Partner with PMO, Project, Programme Managers and Portfolio Leaders.

  • Support business readiness and change adoption activities.

  • Lead workshops with senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Drive Agile Communities of Practice.

  • Support organisational transformation programmes.

  • Contribute to Agile governance frameworks and standards.

  • Support delivery planning, forecasting and organisational prioritisation.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain visibility of delivery health, risks and dependencies.

  • Act as escalation point for delivery teams.

  • Support audit readiness and compliance activities.

  • Ensure adherence to legislative and EHS requirements.

  • Healthcare, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical experience highly desirable. 

Education/ Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree.

  • CSM, PSM or equivalent Agile certification.

  • 8+ years IT experience.

  • Minimum 5 years Scrum Master experience.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Agile delivery.

  • Experience coaching Product Owners and leaders.

  • Experience across multiple Agile teams.

  • Strong knowledge of Agile metrics and delivery performance management.

Preferred:

  • SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM).

  • SAFe Agilist.

  • Agile Coach certification.

  • Lean Portfolio Management certification.

  • PMP or PRINCE2.

  • Experience driving transformation programmes.

Preferred Domain Expertise:

  • SAP ECC/S4HANA

  • QMS

  • PLM

  • MES

  • CRM

  • Omnichannel Platforms

  • Data & Analytics

  • Cloud Platforms

Travel Requirements

  • Position may involve travel 5% of the time. Most trips will include overnight travel.

Working Conditions

  • Remote working model within the UK.

Special Factors

  • Flexibility to working hours depending on Project Scope.
