Job Description:
Senior Scientist
Huntsman’s Advanced Materials division is now looking for a Senior Scientist.
Reports to: APAC Technical Service Manager
This role is an individual contributor and located in Huntsman Shanghai Campus.
As the Scientist, your responsibilities are:
- Ensure that all activities are performed in line with Huntsman's EHS, Corporate compliance standards, local and National regulations and laws
- To develop or modify products to fit new application and performance requirements, such as polymer composites, adhesives or sustainable material solutions for automotive, electronics and power industry, etc.
- Organize project work, set schedules and priorities
- To conduct field trials and lab test for new products as planned;
- Co-ordinate studies in own department for specific experiments to address projects goals and enlarge know-how
- Make significant contributions in the development of technology platforms or new concepts and prepare technical reports, patents and regulatory documentation;
- Act across region/division/function boundaries to influence and impact business results
Skills and experiences required:
Education:
A M.Sc or Ph.D in physical/organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science, Ph.D is preferred;
Experience:
6-8 years in a technical/research laboratory and/or product development environment in polymer chemistry; adhesives or encapsulation technologies;
Technology Competencies:
- Demonstrate an advanced level of practical in formulation technology for epoxy and acrylate adhesives (Resin, Hardener, Fillers, Tougher, Additives, photo-initiators, etc. )
- Demonstrate an advanced level of practical in curing and crosslinking technology (Thermal resistance, bonding in substrates, Failure mode, Reactivity, Processability, etc.)
- Demonstrate an advanced level of practical in rheology and chemo-rheology technology
- Demonstrate an advanced level of practical in materials processing structure-property-performance relationships and structure property mapping.
- Demonstrate an advanced level of practice in experiments design & data verification
