new Senior Chemist at Hempel.

Make an impact and drive improvements

You will be instrumental in ensuring accurate research, development, and testing of new Industrial coating solutions and raw materials as well as devising research methods, preparing technical specifications, and specifying laboratory test equipment and processes.

You have an analytical, fact-based approach to performing your assignments. You are dedicated, ambitious and highly motivated, a team player that contributes to close partnership at all levels of the organization. You understand the importance of the interaction between strategic and operational execution and ensure progress in your tasks.

What you can look forward to in this Role:

You will have the outstanding opportunity to report directly to our European R&D Manager and agree with other colleagues from all over the world. Furthermore you will be able to:

  • Modify existing recipes and develop new and sustainable coating solutions to customer specifications and needs.
  • Evaluate and analyse of wet and dry paint properties and presenting the results in R&D reports.
  • Support during the scale up phase in production.
  • Visit customers & advise about their process and customize products if needed.
  • Act as a technical project leader or member.

What does it take to become our new team member?

  • Chemistry (min. college level - HBO)
  • Validated experience in Coatings R&D
  • Broad knowledge / experience with the formulation of water- and solvent based Industrial coatings.
  • Knowledge of application and curing equipment used in the Industrial coatings market.
  • Experience with development of validated colours and metallics.
  • Hands on mentality and ability to agree with the work floor and higher management.
  • Communication skills in Dutch and English. German would be valuable.
