In this role, you will take responsibility for our central Biobrain® Platform Configuration Toolset. You will combine software architecture, requirement definition, and technical leadership to evolve and maintain core components of our complex platform configuration tooling, such as asset management, code generation, SAP interfaces, and distributed build and repository infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and guide developers to translate requirements from product development and production into robust, scalable tooling that enables reliable, high-quality development for our Bioprocess solutions.
The position is full-time and offers a hybrid working model with remote work on some days as well as on-site presence at our office in Guxhagen.

Gather, analyze, and translate complex software requirements in collaboration with Product Management and Product Development stakeholders to ensure implementable and testable product specifications, and provide technical guidance on feasible architectural and design options
Design and develop scalable, maintainable software components using prototyping, making technology and design trade‑offs within agreed architectures, design standards, and participation in design reviews to ensure long‑term sustainability and performance of the software system
Implement high‑quality, efficient, and readable code following coding standards and best practices to ensure performance, memory efficiency, and ease of maintenance, while leveraging AI‑based development tools (e.g. for coding, testing, and documentation) in a compliant and effective way
Create and maintain design, functional, and test documentation to ensure traceability, validation readiness, and knowledge continuity
Implement and maintain automated unit and regression tests within the established testing frameworks to ensure early defect detection and stable software releases
Validate software functionality and interaction with hardware interfaces where applicable to ensure correct system behavior in the target operating environment
What will convince us
Completed Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field
Proven multi-year experience in developing complex commercial software products, with expert‑level programming skills and relevant technologies (e.g. .NET, C#, WPF, Typescript, React and other modern UI frameworks)
Strong object‑oriented design and software engineering skills
Experience across multiple phases of the software development lifecycle, ideally in agile development environments
Experience developing software in regulated environments and awareness of data protection and privacy requirements relevant to pharmaceutical and biotech products
Experience with, or strong interest in AI-assisted software development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and their effective usage in a professional environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix and international environment
Results‑oriented, structured, and self‑driven working style
Very good German and English skills complete your profile

Skills Required
- Master's degree in Science
