The Role
Gator Bio is a fast-growing company with a strong team, amazing technologies, and solid financial backers. We are executing the plan to build a leading brand in the life science tool business. Our first product line consists of fiber optic biosensor solutions to accelerate and simplify therapeutic development, life science research, and biomarker discovery. Gator Bio’s customers include pharma, biopharma, biotech, CRO’s, CDMO’s, and academic research labs. We sell to North America, APAC, and Europe.
We are hiring for a full-time Research Scientist to be based in Palo Alto. This scientist will report to the CTO, and work on pushing the boundaries of our technology at the interface of optical design, material science, and surface chemistry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead project adapting company’s technology to phagedisplay in antibody generation
- Participating in research and development projects focusing on fundamental technologyimprovement and innovations.
- Collaborating with engineering team on algorithm, software, and instrument development and integration.
- Drafting publication and patent applications.
- Drafting product inserts, application notes, and validation protocols.
- Work with customer and collaborators in assay development and data generation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. degree in life science (bioengineering /biochemistry / biology / molecular biology) required. Post-doctoral experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in phage display or similar methods isrequired; Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Working knowledge of optical system, biomaterial, surface chemistry, immunoassay (e.g., ELISA), antibody engineering, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) or BioLayer Interferometry (BLI) is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and experience in giving scientific presentations.
