The Position

As the Senior SAP Concur Business Solution Analyst - will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing customized Concur solutions to meet our organization's evolving travel and expense management needs. This individual will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into technical designs, ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise systems, and driving continuous improvement within the Concur platform. They will be a key point of escalation for Concur related issues, and will be a leader in the Concur space within the company.

Responsibilities: 

Solution Design & Documentation:

  • Design and document customized solutions within the Concur platform, aligned with industry best practices and organizational requirements, for new features, enhancements, and deployments.

  • Develop comprehensive solution architecture documentation for Concur integrations with other systems (e.g., Workday, EPP (ServiceNow), ERP, IQVIA, Oversight, AI/OCR tools).

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:

  • Analyze business needs and translate them into detailed technical requirements for Concur implementations.

  • Utilize out-of-the-box Concur functionality (e.g. standard reporting, workflow configurations, APIs) to optimize system performance and meet business objectives.

Concur Platform Expertise:

  • Maintain deep knowledge of Concur functionality, including Intelligence, Travel, and Expense modules, and stay updated on the latest product offerings.

  • Demonstrate advanced Concur configuration expertise, holding relevant certifications, to design and implement solutions that meet complex business requirements

Integration Management:

  • Design and manage Concur API integrations and ensure seamless data flow with other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP ERP, Workday, Snowflake).

  • Maintain integration architecture plans and documentation, adhering to enterprise architecture standards and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in RESTful API consumption, experience with data transformation using middleware platforms such as Mulesoft, Denodo, and expertise in secure SFTP file transfers for data exchange.

Data Governance & Security:

  • Ensure Concur configurations adhere to data privacy and security policies (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of data governance processes, which includes data quality management, role-based access control, and data retention policies, to guarantee compliance and data integrity.

Automation & Optimization:

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities, such as AI-driven expense categorization and RPA-based workflow optimization, leveraging Roche's AI tools.

  • Lead efforts to optimize Concur processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Change Management & Support:

  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex Concur configuration and integration issues, providing expert technical support and guidance to existing support teams.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure Concur configurations and processes comply with relevant industry regulations and internal audit requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits related to Concur usage.

Global Implementations:

  • Lead and support global Concur implementations, including multi-currency configurations, localization of expense policies, and compliance with international travel regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 8 years of experience in designing and implementing solutions within the Concur platform.  

    • Proven experience integrating Concur with SAP ERP, HR systems (e.g., Workday), and other relevant enterprise applications.

    • Extensive experience with SAP Solution Manager for Concur implementation and support.

  • Technical Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of Concur functionality, including Intelligence, Travel, and Expense modules.

    • Strong understanding of Concur integration capabilities and experience with APIs, middleware (e.g., Mulesoft, Denodo), and SFTP.

    • Strong understanding of database concepts and SQL.

    • Familiarity with web services and XML/JSON data formats.

    • Understanding of cloud-based solutions and architecture.

  • Certifications:

    • Certified Professional - Expense Configuration

  • Industry Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of industry-specific travel and expense management best practices.

    • Understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.

    • Experience with the pharmaceutical industry, and the regulations within the industry, is a large plus.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

    • Strong stakeholder management abilities.

    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
