Job Description
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Specialist in Dow Industrial Solutions (DIS) business, located in Tokyo, Japan.
You will work with the team and contribute to the business growth and differentiation of DIS business.
Job is an account management on direct customers and distributors to deliver the sales plan in alignment to marketing and product plan.
Also you are expected to understand customer’s unmet needs and develop the long term business milestones in the responsible market with internal stakeholders.
Dow Industrial Solutions in Japan
Japan is a key country for several DIS strategic market segments such as Electronics Processing, Coatings, Inks & Adhesives, Industrial & Institutional Cleaning, Lubricants, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Energy & Heat Management.
We are serving to these segments with the robust product mix such as Amines, Acrylics, Surfactants, Polyglycols and Solvents.

- PEG (Polyethylene glycol) pharma grade for colonoscopy and laxative
- Eco friendly surfactant enabling high concentration detergent
- Low odor solvent for household detergent
Industrial
- High performance lubricant in industrial and automotive
- High performance surfactant to produce chemical tonner enabling high resolution tonner
- High performance formulated cleaner in PET recycling process
- Safer performance glycol ether in environmentally friendly coating
Key Responsibilities
- Account management on new/existing customers and distributors to deliver the sales plan in alignment to marketing and product plan.
- Develop and execute account plan with product team, marketing, supply chain and other functions
- Understand the customer needs and identify new business opportunities at new/existing customers
- Collaborates with other functions and stakeholders to enhance CX
- Develop and execute growth project with marketing
- Drive the specialty product growth by closely working with marketing and TS&D team
- Leads and conducts negotiations and develops and implements price strategies aligned with business goals considering legal implications, customs regulations and Dow sales processes.
- Share industry movement, market dynamics, competitor activities etc with product/marketing team and R&D/TS&D team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in chemical industry as the commercial or technical.
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Fluent in English writing and speaking
- Availability for Frequent travel (mostly domestic)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical background in the education or job
- Experience of marketing project
- Experience in surfactant, lubricant or electronics industry
Knowledge & Skills
- Good inter-personal skill and like to work as a team
- Communication skill and the ability to build networks inside/outside company
- Strong initiative, ownership, accountability, passion and proactive working attitude.
- Strong analytical thinking, applies experience, knowledge to resolve issues.
- Strong passion to understand application, customer unmet needs and technical value proposition to grow the specialty
