Where we work
Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the Melbourne office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
About your skills
Communication & stakeholder management: Explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, synthesise complex discussions in the moment, and drive clear outcomes.
Solution & systems thinking: Translate SaaS capabilities into customer workflows, constraints, decision criteria, and measurable outcomes.
Technical fluency: Confident with integrations, security reviews, and structured troubleshooting using logs/docs before escalation.
Executive presence & facilitation: Lead high-stakes rooms, manage interruptions, align diverse stakeholders, and secure explicit decisions and next steps.
About this role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Sales & Solutions Engineer to partner with Account Executives to develop, progress, and convert enterprise sales opportunities to Udemy’s Enterprise solutions and services. This is a customer-facing technical sales role that combines deep discovery, executive storytelling, technical validation (security/integrations), and commercial support through evaluation, procurement, and contracting.
This role does not involve software development. It requires strong technical fluency in enterprise environments (e.g., SSO, APIs, webhooks, identity, security and privacy requirements) to guide customer evaluation and remove technical blockers that impact deal progression and service provision.
What you’ll be doing
Partner with Account Executives on strategic enterprise accounts to progress opportunities from discovery through evaluation to contract execution.
Support procurement and contracting by reviewing and commenting on technical and security language in contracts and procurement artefacts, clarifying intent and ensuring terms align to platform capabilities (in partnership with Legal).
Lead discovery to uncover customer business drivers and translate them into a tailored Udemy solution narrative tied to measurable outcomes.
Navigate objections and competing stakeholder priorities across HR, IT, Security, Finance, and Procurement, keeping conversations outcome-focused and decision-driven.
Guide technical evaluation workstreams including security questionnaires, integration requirements, architecture alignment, and IT due diligence (SSO, APIs, webhooks, data flows).
Define and run Proof of Concepts (PoCs): scope, success criteria, stakeholder commitments, evaluation plan, and executive readout that advances decisions.
Support resolution/escalation of technical issues that impact customer satisfaction, adoption, or commercial progression during evaluation and early onboarding.
Provide field feedback loops to Product/Engineering/Marketing based on customer requirements, objections, and competitor patterns to improve sales plays and product positioning.
What you’ll have
Demonstrated experience in customer-facing technical roles supporting enterprise SaaS (e.g., pre-sales/solution engineering/consulting, technical account management, customer success engineering, implementation/solutions delivery), with proven capability across discovery, solutioning, technical validation, and executive communication.
Strong executive presentation and facilitation capability, including leading high-stakes stakeholder sessions and driving clear decisions and next steps.
Strong discovery skills and the ability to translate business drivers into a crisp point of view tied to measurable outcomes.
Practical technical fluency with enterprise integrations and troubleshooting (e.g., SSO/SAML, SCIM, APIs/webhooks), including security and compliance considerations.
Experience partnering closely with enterprise sales teams and navigating procurement, security, and IT stakeholders to progress opportunities.
Posting Date: January 28, 2026
Application Window: We anticipate the application window will be open until February 12, 2026. Based on business needs, this opportunity may remain posted beyond or closed before the anticipated application window
