As a Senior Sales Representative, you will take ownership of a significant book of business and assigned territory, driving revenue through new equipment sales, end-of-life equipment upgrades, and Vendor Furnish & Install opportunities. This is a high-impact outside sales role focused on developing and maintaining key municipal customer relationships, managing complex sales opportunities, and contributing to the continued growth of Moss Kelley across Florida. The Senior Sales Representative will also serve as a technical resource and mentor to developing members of the sales team.
What you'll do:
- Independently manage and grow a significant revenue base through proactive outreach on new treatment equipment opportunities, end-of-life equipment upgrades, and Vendor Furnish & Install opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong personal sales pipeline focused on assigned high-value territories and accounts.
- Prepare high-quality proposals, technical presentations, and bid responses in coordination with engineers, approved Moss Kelley manufacturers, and the Sales Director.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual sales quotas and contribute to regional performance targets.
- Own and expand relationships with key municipal customers, consulting engineers, and operations teams within the assigned territory.
- Identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions using products from Moss Kelley’s manufacturer portfolio.
- Support the Sales Director with strategic accounts and large-scale projects as required.
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned customers, their treatment processes, equipment needs, and upcoming projects.
- Serve as a senior technical resource to customers regarding municipal water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer products, specifications, applications, and industry best practices through ongoing training.
- Conduct customer site visits, technical demonstrations, and application engineering support to help develop and close complex sales opportunities.
- Work closely with customers, engineers, manufacturers, and internal team members to identify appropriate equipment solutions.
- Mentor and support entry-level Sales Representatives in territory management, technical knowledge, customer relationships, and sales techniques.
- Collaborate with the Sales Director and other members of the sales team on statewide initiatives and major opportunities.
- Actively participate in pipeline reviews, sales strategy sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Serve as a resource to less-experienced team members and contribute to the continued development of the sales organization.
- Maintain disciplined use of QuickBase/CRM to ensure accurate pipeline forecasting, activity tracking, and customer records.
- Provide timely updates to the Sales Director regarding sales activity, market intelligence, customer feedback, and opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and consistent follow-through throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Manage opportunities from initial customer engagement through proposal, negotiation, order, and project completion.
- Support company-wide initiatives, including Vendor Furnish & Install projects, manufacturer programs, and UFT synergy opportunities.
- Contribute to company-wide growth initiatives, including compliance projects and manufacturer partnership programs.
- Monitor Florida regulatory developments, market conditions, and industry trends and provide strategic insights to the sales team and customers.

What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of proven sales experience in municipal water/wastewater, industrial equipment, or technical products.
- Established relationships with Florida municipal customers and strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage large accounts, develop sales opportunities, and close complex sales.
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with consulting engineers, municipal customers, operations personnel, manufacturers, and contractors.
- Ability to manage a substantial sales pipeline and consistently achieve revenue targets.
- Interest in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a high-performance sales culture.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales technology.
- Valid driver's license, clean MVR, and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays of up to 25%.
