As a Senior Sales Representative, you will be a key member of the Joint Replacement sales team, responsible for driving sales growth and developing strong clinical and commercial relationships across the Western Cape territory.
You will work with limited supervision while partnering closely with sales leadership, clinical stakeholders, and cross-functional colleagues. In addition to achieving your own sales objectives, you will serve as a role model and resource for more junior sales representatives, sharing knowledge and supporting their development.
What will you do:
Develop and execute territory business plans, including clear objectives, activity plans, market analysis, and contingency actions, to achieve or exceed sales targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals by understanding their clinical and commercial needs and providing tailored solutions.
Promote and sell Joint Replacement products through consultative selling, effectively communicating product value and differentiators to clinical and purchasing stakeholders.
Provide clinical and technical support during procedures, including case coverage in the operating theatre, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities, including opportunities to gain market share from competitors and expand business across the portfolio.
Maintain strong knowledge of Joint Replacement products, procedures, market developments, and customer needs to engage confidently in clinical conversations.
Support commercial activities, including tender proposals and customer negotiations, and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to maximize business opportunities.
Mentor and support junior sales representatives by sharing best practices, providing guidance, and contributing to their sales and professional development.
What will you need:
Required:
Bachelors, Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably within a healthcare, medical device, or related environment. Based on the candidate’s experience, the role could be considered for a more senior level.
Demonstrated experience selling Joint Replacement products and providing clinical support in an operating theatre.
Demonstrated experience managing customers and business opportunities within the Western Cape territory.
Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, analytical, planning, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred:
Knowledge of medical device regulations and the healthcare environment.
Experience mentoring or developing junior sales representatives.
