A Day in the LifeThe Senior Sales Manager – New Market is responsible for driving commercial growth, market expansion, and strategic execution across emerging and developing markets in Vietnam. This role leads sales teams to achieve financial and operational targets, while building sustainable business pipelines and expanding Medtronic’s presence in new customer segments.
The incumbent will develop and execute market entry strategies, oversee sales operations, and drive cross-functional collaboration to accelerate innovation adoption and business growth.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
1. Business & Financial Leadership
Directly contribute to the achievement of financial and operational targets in alignment with business unit and regional objectives
Establish annual budgets, sales forecasts, and long-term growth plans for New Market segments
Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery
2. Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and drive sales strategies aligned with Business Unit and regional priorities
Lead sales planning, territory optimization, and pipeline development to ensure sustainable growth
Ensure effective field execution, including resource allocation and sales force effectiveness
3. Market Development & Expansion
Identify and develop new markets, customer segments, and strategic opportunities
Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders including hospitals, surgeons, and distributors
Lead market entry initiatives and scale business in underpenetrated regions
4. Product & Commercial Excellence
Oversee new product and market introductions, ensuring successful commercialization
Drive sales training programs to enhance team capabilities and competency
Coordinate key surgeon engagement, KOL development, and participation in industry congresses
5. Business Planning & Marketing Alignment
Provide strategic direction on marketing plans, demand generation, and go-to-market approaches
Align sales and marketing activities to optimize business outcomes and customer impact
Maintain long-range sales and marketing plans to support sustained growth
6. Leadership & Talent Management
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team to deliver business results
Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA preferred)
8–12+ years of sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
Proven track record in driving sales growth and market expansion
Strong understanding of healthcare industry and hospital dynamics in Vietnam
Experience in new market development or emerging markets is highly preferred
