Reporting into the Director, Payer Sales, the  Senior Sales Executive, Government specializing in government contracts, will play a pivotal role in driving Availity’s strategy and growth in the government sector.  Leveraging your expertise in government procurement processes and your deep understanding of the healthcare industry, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing government contracts.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of government health care industry sales experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex government sales cycles and negotiating win-win agreements based on value-based selling
  • Experience selling healthcare technology and demonstrate an understanding of healthcare EDI transactions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Prior experience preparing and delivering formal proposals/presentations and the ability to make decisions independently
  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the day/week
  • You should expect to travel 25%

  • Healthcare lobbyist experience
  • Deep expertise with government regulations, policies, and initiatives related to healthcare
  • Actively participate in associations that have a positive impact within the government space as it relates to healthcare technology

You will be:

  • Developing and executing a strategic sales plan to target government agencies and secure contracts for Availity solutions.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders within government agencies.
  • Staying informed about government regulations, policies, and initiatives related to healthcare, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams, including Product, Marketing, Finance and Legal, to tailor proposals and solutions to meet the specific needs and requirements of government clients.
  • Leading contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends and emerging opportunities within the government and healthcare sector to identify opportunities.
  • Providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership on pipeline and market insights.
