Senior Sales Engineer

The Role
The role of the Senior Sales Engineer (SSE) is to support the Regional Sales team in reaching sales plans goals by providing pre-sales support in qualifying opportunities, designing solutions, and assisting with product demonstrations and new product implementations. The SSE has experience in a majority of areas across network and cyber security, compliance, and managed security services. This job works remotely and will require visits to client sites and prospective customer sites.
What you’ll do:
- The SSE is the technical leader in the opportunity process, collaborating with the sales team to develop and deliver professional subject matter expertise via onsite client visits, and video calls; and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to demonstrate the NuHarbor Value Proposition.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand needed client business outcomes and design holistically enterprise solution(s) that balance client’s ability to enact needed changes to realize value.
- Works with technical counterpart(s) within our OEM partners in support of sales opportunities.
- Act as a technical resource/point of contact at trade shows and conferences.
- Strategize with the sales team on commercial approaches to activate and achieve planned market goals.
- Work as a technical liaison between NuHarbor’s Sales, Client Success, Product, and Services teams to ensure strong working relationships in benefit and support of NuHarbor’s clients.
- Work directly with technical counterparts within current and new clients to develop lasting impactful relationship built on value, commitment, and trust.
- Strive to be a trusted advisor to clients and OEM partners alike.
- Demonstrate the effectiveness and value of NuHarbor security solutions vs. competing product and service solutions.
- Stay up-to-date and ahead of emerging cybersecurity news and market/industry trends.
- Learn new products and technologies on a self-directed basis and complete vendor/industry certifications.
- Public speaking as a subject matter expert (SME) within at-least one domain of the security services industry.
Your foundation. The requirements for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- We are always open to proven success and experience in lieu of a degree.
- 7+ years of experience in pre-sales consulting; with 5+ of these as a sales engineer in network or security.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills addressing both technical and executive
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of modern cyber threats, intrusion techniques, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures.
- Advanced knowledge in at-least four areas across SIEM, endpoint protection platforms, threat detection/prevention, cloud security technologies, and identity and access management solutions.
- Ability to recommend strategic security solutions that align with the client security posture.
- Has expert knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL, Web Applications, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls.
- Has proved background in writing scripts (Perl/shell/Python) and/or SQL queries.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect.

Additional capabilities that will differentiate you for this role:
- Direct professional services, service delivery, or consulting services experience in cybersecurity highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in supporting all clients from a variety of vertical market sectors including SLED, Higher Education, Commercial and Enterprise businesses.
- Desired Certifications:
- ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- CompTIA Security +
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, sales certifications for OEM Security Technologies.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect
