The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to grow Solar Turbines' business across Central Asia. The role combines direct technical and commercial responsibility for new turbomachinery packages, construction services, and aftermarket services associated with new projects. You will manage customer relationships, develop winning solutions, and lead opportunities from identification through contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans, forecasts, account strategies, and actions required to achieve business objectives.

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities in the Oil & Gas market, while building relationships with operators, national oil companies, EPC contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders.

  • Understand customers' businesses, technical requirements, project drivers, and commercial priorities, and position Solar solutions with a clear and differentiated value proposition.

  • Lead preparation of technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with Project Application Engineering, Customer Services, Construction Services, Contracts, Finance, and other functions.

  • Represent Solar Turbines in customer meetings, technical presentations, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor developments, pricing, risks, and opportunities, and communicate relevant intelligence internally.

  • Support an effective handover from sales to project execution and ensure that commitments comply with company policies and can be delivered to customer expectations.

  • Represent the company at industry conferences and maintain a strong professional network across the region.

Products and Solutions

The complete range of Solar new turbomachinery packages and associated equipment and services, including gas compression, power generation, mechanical-drive and other complex applications, as well as construction and aftermarket solutions linked to new project sales.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in technical sales, business development, project engineering, or a related commercial environment within Oil & Gas, energy, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or a closely related sector.

  • Strong working knowledge of turbomachinery principles and applications. Direct experience with gas turbines, compression, power generation, or rotating equipment is preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage complex technical and commercial opportunities, develop proposals, negotiate terms, and communicate confidently with senior customer stakeholders.

  • Solid knowledge of Central Asian Oil & Gas markets and the regional customer landscape. An established industry network is an advantage.

  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure in a dynamic, multicultural, and cross-functional environment.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, including the ability to secure internal resources and align stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Fluency in English and Russian. Knowledge of a Central Asian language, such as Kazakh, Uzbek, or Turkmen, is highly desirable.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.

Minimum salary range from: 106,826 USD.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
