About This Opportunity
As a Senior Solutions Engineer at H2O.ai, you will demonstrate the ability to move quickly and show initiative in navigating ambiguity. You will have a strong passion for innovation and for translating complex technologies into high-ROI organizational outcomes. You will solve real-world problems by applying cutting-edge Generative AI and machine learning algorithms. You will be passionate about working with customers to address their business challenges and will excel at explaining complex machine learning concepts in clear, simple business terms.
This role is ideal for a results-driven sales engineer with a passion for driving impactful outcomes in the public sector.
This position is based in Japan.
- Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering related to ML/AI/GenAI: Engage with clients to understand their ML/AI/GenAI and data science requirements, designing tailored solutions.
- Technical Consulting and Enablement: Regular communication with the customers for, e.g., product update and use cases discussion.
- Partner enablement: Working closely with regional partners and channels lead to drive democratization of ML/AI/GenAI from H2O within the partner ecosystem. Provide sales related training to partners. Support partners' sales activities.
- User Training: Provide user training of H2O products to customers and partners.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the APAC team to solve sales and technical issues of Japanese clients.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, including experience in technical selling of AI/ML/GenAI solutions.
- Japanese speaker.
- Proven track record of engaging with enterprise or public sector clients to understand complex technical needs and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and familiarity with LLM and GenAI ecosystems.
- Experience working with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), and tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Experience building and demonstrating end-to-end AI/ML prototypes tailored to real-world use cases.
- Solid understanding of modern data stacks, ML pipelines, and MLOps practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with or within public sector environments, understanding procurement and compliance considerations.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
