The Opportunity
As a Enterprise Sales Engineer at Altana, you will be the critical bridge connecting our pioneering AI platform to the strategic goals of global enterprises. You will lead Proof of Value projects jointly with Sales and act as the product expert to translate customers’ complex supply chain problems into quantifiable value with the Altana platform. This role requires a perfect blend of technical acumen and interpersonal skills to act as the trusted advisor in presenting our innovative solutions to diverse audiences at Fortune 500 companies.

You Will
- Partner with Account Executives to deeply understand and evaluate challenges in prospective customers’ current supply chain governance and workflows.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to illuminate how Altana’s solutions can uniquely solve customer needs and deliver value.
- Own the pre-sales technical engagement and delivery of proof projects; gather technical requirements, define success criteria, develop robust business cases, provide technical documentation, and conduct hands-on workshops.
- Address customer technical inquiries and resolve any concerns surrounding Altana’s technology, implementation, security, and data privacy.
- Validate technical fit and secure a smooth handoff to the Technical Account Management (TAM) and Implementations teams to set up customers for success.
- Collaborate cross functionally with product, engineering, TAM, Implementations, and others to gather customer feedback, ideate on product evolution, and escalate deal-blocking issues.
- Assist in post-sales activities as needed, ensuring smooth customer onboarding and well-supported upsell opportunities.
You Have
- Experience working in a pre-sales environment working directly with Account Executives on enterprise accounts; SaaS or PaaS products preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate value effectively to both technical and executive audiences, whether it's an impromptu discussion or a prepared presentation and demo.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale data technologies (e.g., data warehousing, ETL), advanced analytics, and cloud infrastructure.
- The ability to correlate a customer’s specific business problems with Altana’s solutions
- Familiarity with (or a strong desire to rapidly master) best practices, terminology, and the competitive landscape in trade resiliency and compliance.
- Willingness to travel.
- A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar.
- A passion for tackling complex challenges within global trade.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and/or Python.
This role is based in Brooklyn, New York. Candidates must be within commuting distance from our Brooklyn office.
US Salary Range and Benefits
$150,000 - $170,000
The salary range, to the extent specified for this role, is a good faith statement of the minimum and maximum levels of the annual based salary for the position. The base salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on a wide range of compensation factors, including, but not limited to, work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Altana's total compensation package. Altana also offers either a discretionary bonus or a variable compensation plan depending on the role. Additionally, Altana offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including:
