Your Role:

As a Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and managing business within the regional GCN Partner sales vertical. This role involves winning new business within Ciena’s Global Partner Community and expanding opportunities within the existing footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regional GCN Demand and Execution Plan: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive demand in the region.
  • Business Planning: Accountable for short, medium, and long-term business plans to achieve financial performance objectives.
  • Innovative Go-to-Market Models: Drive creative market models, including MOFN variants, management models, and advanced service offers.
  • Customer Advocacy: Represent customer needs within CIENA, ensuring necessary product features, delivery dates, and pricing are met.
  • Forecasting & Execution: Ensure SalesForce forecast accuracy and execution against plans.
  • Internal Coordination: Align strategies with Direct GCN Sales Teams and International SP Sales Teams.
  • Integrity: always be respectful to our customer and colleagues and commit to Ciena’s mission to succeed in the right way.
  • Core Values: Champion CIENA’s core values across teams and business operations.

Your Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking and Business Planning: Ability to define short, medium-, and long-term business plans aligned with regional and global strategies.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional relationship building skills collaboration, influence, and driving demand across customers and the regional markets.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial accuracy, judgment and forecasting skills
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the customer and internal organizations.
  • Industry Leadership: Act as a CIENA trusted advisor and thought leader in the GCN regional Market.

Your Experience

  • Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge, influence, and network within the GCN industry community.
  • Competitive Insight: Advanced awareness of the competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Proven Success: A track record of overachieving in an MOFN sales role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Technical background in optical networking, especially 6500/waveserver. Knowledge of network engineering and sales engineering roles is a plus.
  • Carrier Experience: Experience working within a carrier, particularly with Hyperscaler customers, is advantageous.
