CrossLab iLab operations software is a leading web-based enterprise software service targeting academic research institutions. This software suite helps accelerate research at leading scientific institutions by reducing overhead related to service request, customer, and project management workflows in addition to solving billing, spend management and reporting requirements.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an expert Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our team. As a senior Ruby developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the iLab operations software SaaS product. As senior Ruby on Rails developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement features, perform extensive refactoring, and write automated tests.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain the iLab SaaS product.
- Help address security, performance and customer reported issues.
- Implement best practices for application security to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with product managers, testers, and other R&D engineers to deliver high-quality features and improvements.
- Solves complex and high-impact design and development problems varying scope and complexity.
- Provide thought leadership on ways to improve legacy parts of the application by applying modern Ruby and Rails concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in software development.
- At least 8+ years of software product development experience.
- 5+ years of experience with a modern programming language like Ruby/Python/Java or C#
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise with Ruby programming language internals and metaprogramming.
- Expertise in building unit test automation using rspec.
- Experience with debugging performance issues in Ruby code.
- Experience with using security analysis tools.
