Locus Robotics is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Integration Engineer for its Advanced Product Group (APG). APG is a forward-thinking group that evaluates product opportunities with 2–4-year roadmaps using emerging technologies, including machine, learning, manipulation and advanced controls. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to define project goals, execute proof-of-concepts, and deliver robust, scalable solutions for real-world applications. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment and is excited by the challenge of solving complex integration problems in mobile robotics.

This hybrid role is based in our corporate headquarters in Wilmington, MA office, with travel to our research office in Nashua, NH as required. Onsite at least 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate robotic hardware and software systems by augmenting or developing new APIs.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Plan and execute proof-of-concepts and demonstrations for internal and external consumption.
  • Create predictable robot behaviors and robot interactions.
  • Document and share knowledge and refine designs based on team input.
  • Occasional domestic travel to support pilot deployments and demos may be required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of commercial work experience or contributions to open source software.
  • 3+ years with demonstrated proficiency with C++ & Python.
  • Demonstrated experience writing C++ for autonomous systems. 
  • Preferred experience with Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects with shifting deadlines and requirements.
  • Proficient English written and verbal communications skills required to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams. 
  • Comfortable in a culture of quick, iterative design and experimentation.
  • 15% domestic travel as required.
